This is another bucket list item. I’ve wanted to do this for quite some time and I was fortunate enough to rope in Michel and Nancy for the trip.
What’s interesting about viewing the Aurora is that at first, you cannot see it. About the only way to tell is if your camera picks it up. The first view I had was from the camera display around 11 pm. After that, the activity increased and you could see it with the naked eye.
This is a time lapse I took with approximately 78 shots with an exposure of 20 seconds for each shot and each shot was spaced 10 seconds apart. It required a tripod and a shutter release cable. The f/stop was 4.0 and my camera’s ISO setting was 1600. All in all, it turned out pretty good.
