Myakka River State Park - 19-21 November 2017

This was my second dry prairie trip in a row.  The previous one was Kissimmee Prairire Preserve State Park.  Both were impressive but at least this one was really dry and you could walk on the trails.  As far as the plants are concerned, I’m 99% sure on the genus and a little less sure on the species since I only picture keyed these.  Since you can’t collect anything in state or national parks, you can’t bring the plant back, put it under a dissection scope, and use botanical manuals and floras to make sure of the identification.  Scroll to the bottom of this page to see what books I used for identifcations.
