When touring the national parks, I like to stay in the lodges of the park if possible, so it was a thrill to get to stay five nights in the Old Faithful Inn, completed in 1904. I stayed in the addition completed in 1913. The lobby of the inn is 76 1/2 feet tall - the height of the typical lodgepole pine used to construct the inn. I have to admit some of the time was spent in the Bear Pit Bar!
