STRAUSS’ SALOME - October 18, 2009 - San Francisco War Memorial Opera House

Ah, the dance of the seven veils!  I think she was probably nude in the scene but it was so artfully done, you really couldn’t tell.  The voice that stood out to me was Johanaan’s Greer Grimsley.  He was outstanding.  Strauss’ adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s play was pretty amazing.  I don’t particularly remember Nadia Michael’s voice as being outstanding, but she was young, lithesome, and could really dance.

The photo was from the San Francisco Opera web site at sfopera.com.
